We were visiting from out of town and our dog became sick suddenly, requiring emergency surgery. The doctors and staff at Valley Emergency Pet Care were excellent--everyone we interacted with was caring and professional. We were seen right away even though it was a holiday, and staff communicated with us regularly during surgery and recovery to update us on our dog's condition. They found the issue that our vet at home had missed, all while charging less for the surgery than we would have paid at home.

I have NEVER had such a terrible experience with a veterinary clinic. Yesterday, I had an emergency and, unfortunately, had to come to this place, which turned out to be a complete scam. Not a single staff member came out to assist with carrying our 95lb dog, and I was left sitting in the waiting room for an unreasonable amount of time. I called ahead, and the receptionist assured me they weren't busy, yet I still had to wait for an extended period. Every person I encountered was rude and indifferent. They did absolutely nothing to help. He was left covered in urine and feces—completely neglected. If you truly care about your pets, you should NEVER bring them here. I would rather make the long trip to Denver or Junction than ever deal with this place again. Save your time, money, and, most importantly, your pet’s well-being.

I am appalled, disgusted, and shocked by the treatment my family endured by Dr. Oneal Bogan, when we took our beloved dog to Valley Emergency Pet Care on July 4th!!! Our dog had severely declined and was in a lot of pain! Our regular Vet who had been treating him during this short unexpected period, gave us a diagnosis that was ominous, rapidly progressing, and untreatable. Since our regular Vet was closed for the July 4th holiday, we decided to take him to the Valley Emergency Pet Care. We called ahead, discussed what the situation was, and that we were bringing him in to put him to forever rest, because we couldn't stand to watch him suffer any longer!! We were told the staff would be informed, and would be expecting our arrival. After we arrived, we waited for 4 1/2 hours in an exam room, while watching several other people come & go with their animals. A vet tech finally came in our exam room and said Dr. Bogan was ready to examine our dog. However, the vet tech said Dr. Bogan would only examine our dog in the back room, not in the exam room we were put in, and we're not allowed to go with him. We were told Dr. Bogan was too busy with other animals, and this was our only choice!! The supposed exam was only a few minutes long, and the vet tech returned with our dog. The vet tech gave us Dr. Bogan's diagnosis, and when we asked to speak with Dr. Bogan about the diagnosis, we were told once again she was too busy!! Per the vet tech, Dr. Bogan's diagnosis was treatable. But we'd have to take our dog to Denver to a specialty clinic to get tests & scans done, that were only available in Denver. So, Dr. Bogan would not put our dog to forever rest, and would only give him meds until we could get him to Denver. She said she would waive all charges but the meds if we'd take him to Denver. We only agreed to get the HELL out of there!!! Dr. Bogan didn't give us the courtesy, compassion, or time to come into our exam room herself to do the exam in front of us and talk with us about her diagnosis. We've NEVER EVER had this kind of experience with ANY Vet over our lifetime of having numerous pets!!! It's unacceptable, unprofessional, and disturbing to be treated like this, for my family and especially our beloved dog!!! We believe God has a plan for us humans and creatures. We're so blessed our sweet precious dog "passed" the next day, and NOT in the hands of Dr. Bogan!!!!

The doctors were exceptionally nice and really cared about our poor kitty. Great service, especially considering it was Saturday Dec 23, a weekend day before Christmas. They bandaged up a wound for her, and even performed some extra suturing free of charge after we had paid. I know that sounds weird ("why wasn't that part of the procedure to begin with?”), but it made sense in context.
Her bandage is cute too.

While camping nearby our dog showed signs of kennel cough overnight, leaving him and us with no more than 30 minutes of sleep at a time before the next coughing and hacking started again. This emergency vet showed us so much patience during a busy holiday. We appreciated the quality of care while being a few hours from home and got meds to relieve symptoms. Thank you!

I had a nightmare of an experience with Valley Emergency Pet Care. I would highly recommend you take your pet any place but, here!

Let me first start by saying I am going to file a formal complaint with the Colorado State Board of Veterinary Medicine against both the facility, and the Veterinarian Sara Bresse (you can also, view her profile on LinkedIn I know she "fills" in at many different EMERGENCY Hospitals.

Apparently this was Sara's first time here, as she primarily works in the Denver Metro Area. I am saying this so you BEWARE of your Vet (double check you do not have her). I was told this is a Pathways Organization.

Along with that, let me note their Office Manager Serena in my opinion has been working in emergency veterinary care far too long as she was obviously had become so callus on a family's pet has surgery that could potentially save his life, or if said pet is euthanized.

On January 21st, 2021 Sara, the Vet suggested either 1.) Emergency exploratory surgery ($2,500-3,500) due to what could " possible be" a bowel obstruction or 2.) Euthanasia.

Oliver was seen at his primary Vet less than thank 48 hours later and he was given a clean bill of health.

Had we taken the advice of the Vet or the facility's advice we would have lost our puppy dog. What horrible professional guidance!

Thank goodness for after hours care. Yes, it is expensive but you are paying for a vet and a tech to be there all night. Glad they were there when my old dog suddenly had a 105 fever. Great quality care.
