Had an appointment to have my lab put down and cremated, called a few hours before my appointment to confirm the time as my older dog doesn't travel well. They didn't have any information in the computer regarding the appointment, but would be happy to make room for us if we Paid the emergency visit fee. This place will find every way possible to drain as much money out of your pocket as possible. Tried to get one last emergency fee out of me for a pet that would no longer be a patient.

While saying good morning to Athena I noticed a huge welt/mass under her eye that wasn’t there before we went to bed.
Fearing it was an allergic reaction or something in her eye, she needed urgent care. My normal vet was short staffed and couldn’t get her in so I went to VCA Northpointe Animal Hospital.
They were so attentive, caring, and friendly. Despite having an hour half- two hour wait, they provide triage care and gave us an exam room to wait in so that we weren’t stuck in my car or in the waiting room with a bunch of other pets. Our bill was under $250- which included a week supply of medicine!!
Athena can be anxious when getting medical care, especially if I can’t be present, but the staff were obviously great and wholesome because Athena did just fine when they took her back to see the doctor without me, and all the staff loved her.
Athena is 140lbs, so the fact that they could handle her so well and independently shows their level of skill set.
She came out tail wagging and after an exam the the vet was luckily able to determine that there was nothing lodged in her eye and that she wouldn’t require additional treatment or tests.

I feel so appreciative of the team there. And grateful that for emergency care, the bill was less than my vet would have been for normal care. Highly highly recommend!!

I took my senior cat in today and I was very distressed and not knowing what to do, the staff was very empathetic, especially the veterinarian. We left the clinic and we have a happy ending that i didn’t know if was possible at that point. Thank you for taking care of my beloved kitty! 😻

I hate this place, but I'm also grateful for what they've done, or at least tried to do. It just hurts to lose pets without notice. I took my 3 year old doberman in for a cough/sneeze and 15 min later they came and got me from waiting room and took me back to him. He was already on life support, I guess he had a bad heart and with the fluid in his lungs, they couldn't help him. Unless I'd raised an additional $6000. (I was already in about $1400 in the first half hour) Even with $6000 more, she said he wouldn't stand a good chance. So I left after watching them help him go peacefully. And I've tried to blame her ever since, but it wasn't her fault. When I can manage to face owning another dog, I'll go back. They are the best equipped to care for animals, unless you drive to Loomis Basin.

This is the first Veterinary that I've taken my dogs to, where they aren't nervous or anxious. I really appreciate how the vets interact with them to make them feel comfortable. The fact that they can get after hours emergency care is also a plus. My latest addition will be meeting them soon.

Very nice until they have a problem to deal with they murdered my dog my dog had a lump they said was fatty deposit they never checked it for anything year later it turns out to be tumor on her liver that burst and she was bleeding to death would cost 6000 for surgery and to take her somewhere else for surgery as the couldn't do anything that she would likely only live 2_3months afterthe surgery doctor looked and acted like she was on crack at the time of the visit same doctor both visits first visit she wanted to spay my dog at a cost of 4000 at the time of the first visit would not recommend them at any cost had to give them 1star as the system wouldn't let me give zero stars be. Very careful when dealing with them warning

I've been using VCA for many years now and have always been happy up until my appointment today. My dog has to be given drugs just to get her into the Vet so it's not a easy task. Make appointment for the biting and itching of feet made it clear in the office of her itching yet once we were home they never gave her the shot. Was able to be told she needs surgery for breast lumps and they'll email me price estimates, she's 11lbs. overweight, yet never was given the shot so she doesn't keep biting on her feet and legs. Was told there was a miscommunication but when it comes to your pets safety and welfare they should be no miscommunication at all. I will be finding a new Vet where there is better communication

I'd give this place zero stars if possible. We had a senior dog very sick and had to be put down here on 1/19/2019. We've been so upset its taken us over a month to even be able to post this review. However I feel its a dis-service to others not to talk about my experience here.

We brought our furbaby in during the evening hours and had a nice concerned and communicative vet, however during her decline, she was switched to Carol Vetri, DVM when day shift started. There was lack of communication on when medication was to be given (what the night doctor planned with us) vs. what Carol Vetri decided to do on her own during day shift. She also did not call us to let us know she was changing the plan we agreed to with the night doctor. We were visiting her throughout the day and sleeping in the parking lot to spend as much time with her as possible in her time of need. The staff made us feel like we were bothering them, and rude. However we've had our pup for 18 years, knowing death was possibly near we couldn't go home and wait. We were suppose to get updates, and nobody called, we had to check in with them, and physically ask for updates in person, Carol talked down to us when explaining things and seemed like we were bothering her even after spending over 3500 dollars on emergency care at that point. I had to remind the nurses of the antibiotic schedule we planed with the night doctor, her does was over 4 hours late. When I asked why things were changed and why she didn't have her antibiotic the answer was I decided to change it, but nobody updated us. I had to request a different vet on shift due to how upset we were with the rudeness and impatient uncommunicative doctor. The time line was of upmost importance as she wanted us to decide to put her down at 3pm due to being unresponsive to meds...but they were late on the last intravenous dose by many hours. When the time came that we had to make the decision to put our pup down, staff rushed our good bye, asked us if we were done yet, and interrupted us many times while I was saying good bye to my long time friend. Needless to say they made a dire time for our family worse.

Beware, and stay away from this doctor/facility in your time of need. I deeply regret taking my long time furbaby there. She deserved more in the end, than to be rushed to her death. She was just a number and some cash.
