I’ve been reading the reviews since last month for Yosemite Valley Lodge and it made me pretty worried for my 1 night stay. After my stay at Manzanita I can say that it surpassed my expectations other than one little inconvenience, which was being given the wrong key for our room. We kinda had to wait outside our door with all of our things for a bit but the staff were super nice about it. Other than that I thought the room was very cozy, spacious, and clean! I will say that the walls are paper thin, lucky for us we had quiet neighbors but our friend had neighbors who were loud and sounded like they were right next to her. There is a food court, Starbucks, lounge area, gift shop, and plenty of outdoor seating. Everything was so cozy and I had a great time for my first Yosemite trip! I thought the food was delicious unlike many of the reviews that say otherwise. The front desk service was welcoming and asked for room preference which I thought was great. The gift shop and food court employees were also super friendly and helpful! I think your experience will depend on the room location and weather.

We had an amazing time at the Yosemite Valley Lodge! Rooms were a bit outdated, but the bed was comfy and the shower was nice. The base camp eatery was quick, fairly priced and good for what it was! The views surrounding the hotel are what makes them stand out. Super close to the falls. Would highly recommend!

This is my top choice to stay in Yosemite Valley whenever I don’t want to camp or stay in a tent cabin. The location is amazing. It is convenient to restaurants, gift shop, bike rental, Yosemite Valley floor tour, guided nature walks, and shuttle bus. It is an easy walk to the base of Yosemite Falls, the meadows, and Merced river. The rooms do have a mini fridge and a little balcony (or patio). Beds are comfortable. |This lodge is definitely not luxurious by any means. Rooms are rustic and very much in need of updating . On our last stay there, we had problems getting any warm/hot water in the shower. Parking can be very challenging in the daytime if you are there during peak tourist season (since a lot of day-trippers like to park here). This lodge is not inexpensive. One basically pays a premium for the location.|Front desk staff was courteous. On our most recent stay, we were able to check in early.

The location and view from the room was amazing. Everything else quite disappointing for the price. The room was quite dark and didn’t feel very cozy, the door has wood in front of the glass, so it makes the room even darker. It didn’t seem super clean, would definitely need a deep clean. The reception people were not very kind, very cold answers and it felt uncomfortable. If you want your room cleaned then you have to specifically request it. I would give less stars if not for the location.

The room we stayed in had a broken heater. But the staff provided us with two space heaters to ensure room is cozy. It was 3 of us and we had booked a 2 double bed room which was good. Overall a great place to stay.

The parking around the rooms are limited so had to sometimes park farther away.

Location is amazing and the views around are outstanding…… when the weather is on your side. We arrived in the pouring rain and unfortunately it didn’t really stop so we decided to leave a day early and carry on our journey. When we arrived about 3, check-in was unavailable due to systems being down. We were told to come back around 4. Got back about 4:15 and systems still down. Eventually about 4:45 a system was put in place to check-in. Everyone was apologetic for the inconvenience. Headed to the room and it was dark and had a rather musty smell. The fan was full of dust as to the shutter on the window. Not sure when it was last fully cleaned. I don’t know about other rooms but ours certainly needed a full deep clean. Food was very average and from the base camp the food is the same every day. Highly recommend going to the village store. Very nice and full of food, drink and gifts.
We went on a tour of Yosemite with Bill. He is a great credit to Yosemite and has so much knowledge which was great to learn. Unfortunately due to the weather the views were some what disappointing. Upon leaving the weather did clear for about 10-15 mins so we were able to get a great view that we longed for so it didn’t spoil the trip.
For the money that Yosemite Valley Charge I would expect as a minimum the rooms are clean!

The location is great. The staff is not welcoming compared to other hotels in the area we have been to. The room didn’t have a microwave, and the food we bought at the bar and grill gave my whole family extremely bad food poisoning. We ate there chicken nachos.

A short walk from Yellowstone falls which you see when you walk outside. Incredible. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. Good cafeteria style restaurant, a nice lounge and a higher end restaurant. Good deal all around
