I’m sharing my experience in hopes that it helps other people make their decision easier when choosing a dog trainer. I have a sweet goldendoodle puppy that was 5 months old when I was seeking training for her. She was overly hyper , horrible to walk with, jumped on everyone and was very mouthy and even nipped at my toddler several times. I had this feeling she would eventually bite my son if we didn’t get help soon. I had a few other consultations elsewhere with trainers who used shock collars and prong collars and that was not something I was looking for. My consultation with Jason made me feel at ease. He told me the methods he uses and how training would be with my puppy, he does not use shock collars or prong collars. He is truly gifted at what he does and it’s obvious he cares for these dogs as if they were his own. I signed up for the 4 week board and train and it was the best decision I could have made . She’s been home for a few weeks now and I have been keeping up with my training homework Jason gave me and what a difference my family sees in her. She no longer jumps on us, she has not once mouthed or nipped anyone in our home. My toddler can pull on her ears and hug her and not once will she open her mouth. I no longer have the fear of her biting him. Walks are enjoyable now, she struggles from time to time with the pulling, but it’s a work in progress and now I know how to correct her because of Jason’s help and the knowledge he gave me. I’m no longer stressed out having a 7 month old puppy in my house. I am more than confident my puppy will hold on to this training and I highly recommend Inside Out training to anyone who is considering!

We brought our dog here on the recommendation of friends. Our German Shepherd was difficult to control, somewhat neurotic, and had a few bad habits when we brought her for her 6-week training. During the initial consultation he finds out what the dog’s issues are so everyone is on the same page. Jason worked with her an extra week just to make sure her training was complete. He does a one hour visit when you pick up the dog to review the commands he teaches them. She was much better when we got her home, and the follow up visits are really the key because he trains the human parents to be able to have a successful relationship with their dog. After about three months of follow up visits and home practice sessions, we have a completely different dog! She is obedient, controllable, and a pleasure to be around. The price seems high but it was worth it for us. Jason is an expert at reading dog body language and he really wants each dog to succeed. The only negative thing I could say is that sometimes email/text communication took awhile, but he told us that up front.

Something is very wrong here with this trainer. Jason may do well with in-person one on one training, but do not trust him to board and train.

Make him show you his "7" dogs and the commands they adhere to before using him, and on pickup make sure your dog can do the same.

I believe he did not train our dog but instead kept our dog kenneled/locked up and only fed and watered her to keep her alive. Our dog came back injured and malnourished according to a vet check at VCA mesa. Our dog lost weight/muscle mass while at Jason's.

I don't know if I will peruse legal action yet, as a battle will cost me more and it will not rehabilitate my dog. I'd rather spend the money on a good trainer versus a lawyer.

If you use Jason... check in every 3 days, and make sure he shows you all the commands he supposedly trained your dog on. He is a good salesman and weaves a web of excuses on his lack of communication.

It takes an uncaring cruel person to treat a dog in the way I expect that he has with ours and others. If you have the same suspicions I do with your pet then follow your gut instinct and leave a review to protect other dogs!

Jason is a wonderful trainer and I couldn't recommend him more. His many years of knowledge, experience and patience show through with how well behaved our puppy has become after she spent 4 weeks with him. If you're looking for a trainer, look no further. I trust Jason and his family to care for my puppy like she is one of their own.

Jason is very hands on and models the positive training methods that he assigns after each session. We practiced run throughs and he gave tips and tricks along the way. My pups have never been so confident or responsive to training. I am eternally grateful. I feel comfortable with my skills and my connection to my pets to take them into our next chapter of life! I definitely recommend and will use their services again in the future.

We adopted a dog and soon realized we were over our heads with bad behaviors. We had met with another trainer whose solution was a shock collar. Although we were desperate for help, we did not feel comfortable with that form of training, Jason and Inside Out Dog Training was recommended to us. We were very skeptical that the training would be successful but desperate for help in order for the dog to stay in our home. We did the board and train program and now have a calm home. Jason's training is gentle and effective. Not only is our dog trained, but we are trained with tools to best help her. She is now part of our family and knows what is expected of her. With the training, the bond between us and our pet has strengthened. We are continuing to build upon the foundation Jason has given us and are improving every day. So far I've been nothing but impressed with Jason and his wife Jenna, at inside out dog training! We did the 3-week board and train with our 5-month-old Australian Shepherd and she is just an amazing little dog. We noticed a beautiful difference after we picked her up (she was already a little angel when we dropped her off). She has transitioned well into our home with the transition help and guidance of inside out dog training. I worked with canine teams as a military policeman in the army and later as a civilian police officer and I can tell you Jason knows his stuff. They are pretty much available at a moment's notice via text. Their follow-up support is very good and their rates are amazing. I did a lot of research looking for a trainer for my new dog. Jason came highly recommended and his reviews were on point. We are nothing but happy and amazed and will continue to support this wonderful dog training business. Don't worry about any more research. Just go with inside out dog training. Trust me, they are the best. Jason's resume is ridiculous.

Jason teaches training based on your dog and your lifestyle. My dogs are different dogs now after our training sessions. From what what used to be a circus of a family walk, we now have have fun as a family taking our dogs out and know they will be safe and behaved. If we have ever had questions we have been able to easily reach out between sessions and setting up sessions is so easy with their online system!
