Josh did a great job with our Goldendoodle Ziggy. He completed a three week boarding training program with Josh. During his time away, he was able to learn many leash and voice commands. We had good communication throughout his stay.

Josh at Maverick K9 Dog Training has completely transformed the behavior of my dogs and my overall experience as a pet owner. One of my dogs needed to be trained as a service dog. He helped prepare her for air travel to Florida as well. She went from walking in zig-zag lines thru my legs to walking in a perfect heel right by my side within a couple of sessions. The speed at which she learned commands like sit and down and heel was truly impressive. He taught my boyfriend and I ways to apply the techniques on our own at home.

My other dog had a serious issue with aggression, barking uncontrollably at anyone running past him. Despite having worked with two trainers in the past without success, Josh was able to work wonders. He is now unfazed by bikers and focuses on me during walks, making him a completely different dog. Also, the fact that he was able to accompany me to a restaurant, calmly lying under the table and sitting through dinner, is a testament to the incredible progress he has made.

Not only was the training effective, but it was also affordable and they were able to accommodate my busy schedule. Additionally, Josh assured us that he would be available for additional check-ins and trainings as we continue our journey with our well-behaved dogs. I am so grateful for the transformation in both of my dogs and highly recommend Maverick K9 Training to anyone in need of expert and compassionate dog training. Josh is great. He is really good with my Doberman. He knows how to get the dogs attention and uses "markers" to reinforce the training. He knows when to be strict and when to play. My dog is much better at leash walking and verbal commands like heal, place, down, free.. etc.

Josh is amazing! We have a Great Dane that has been impossible to walk, aggressiveness with other dogs and lots of other naughty behaviors! Josh taught me how to connect with my dog to be able to properly train him. We are only 1/2 way through our sessions and I look forward to every new session. He has already taught me how to have my dog heel so he won't pull while I am walking, to get him to re-engage to ignore the other dogs we walk by, how to lay down while we are eating dinner, for him to come when called and so much more! I HIGHLY recommend him and his company! I will continue to refer him in hopes that he can help others like me!

Josh is very committed to his work. He loves his work and believes that you can redirect all dogs, right Josh? Josh helped us with my dog who is growling at my husband with an attempt to bite. Josh showed us what to do when that happens and it’s now a work in progress. He continues to check on Chico and help out with anything new that comes up. Josh is kind, thoughtful and giving is in his nature. We are blessed to have found him.

Private training with Josh has been an absolute game changer with our 2yr old terrier mix that we adopted from the shelter. After the first session we felt more confident with our walks and Josh really listened to what behaviors were concerning us, while also educating us as to the fundamentals to then build and strength her engagement with us. After 12 sessions we have a non-leash reactive dog that can go to brunch and shopping at Lowe’s!! We have already recommended Josh to our neighbors.

Josh was fantastic with my dog. He has a commanding presence, which made my dog slightly intimidated at first, but Josh helped him to overcome his fear, and made him a more confident dog all around.
